Dear members and friends,
I’m Alessandro Vero, president of the Dante Alighieri Society of Western Australia. It was a year full of events and I thank from the bottom of my heart all the people who made this possible. First of all, the unrelenting and expert committee that professionally and attentively takes care of all the management activities of our association.

Special thanks to our school coordinator, Imma Pellone, to our secretary Rino Pellone and to our webmaster Giovanni Firmani, but above all I would like to thank our members and students for the trust they place in our society every year and for the enthusiasm with which they face every proposal: thank you very much!

The primary purpose of the Dante Alighieri Society is that of “promoting and spreading the Italian language and culture in the world, reviving the spiritual ties of compatriots abroad with the mother country and nurturing among foreigners the love and worship for the Italian civilization”, and it is precisely for this reason that the new committee, having taken office 6 months ago, immediately undertook to continue the work of the previous committees, implementing cultural events and school courses, the greatest source of survival of our dear Association. The work done so far has not been easy, but thanks to the commitment of the whole committee, we have managed to achieve all the set objectives.
It is with great pride to inform you about the news of DASWA:

  • The calendar of cultural events for 2020 has been organized.
  • We have kept all the courses held in 2019 for 2020.
  • Thanks to a careful spending review, we have reported the accounts of the association in positive.
  • We have completely eliminated cash, bringing electronic payment to our secretariat, hitting the primary objective of transparency.
  • We obtained the PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri – Italian Language Dante Alighieri Project) certification from our headquarters in Rome. With this certificate, for a law passed in 2018 and now in force, it is possible to apply for Italian citizenship for adults and children.
  • Also, thanks to our affiliation with the headquarters in Rome, we had the opportunity to organize ADA certified Italian courses (Attestato Dante Alighieri – Dante Alighieri Certificate). Every student who attends an ADA Italian language course will have a certificate at the end of the course, recognized all over the world.
  • The first IELTS courses will begin shortly for all our Italian and non-Italian friends “hunting for a visa”, at an extremely competitive cost.
  • On our website and on the website of the Italian consulate in Perth you have the opportunity to deepen what I have written and you can also see the new cultural courses of art, history, theatre and an advanced guitar course that will all start from February 2020.

The difficulty was finding qualified teachers, a special thanks for this to the Italian Government, in particular to the Italian Consulate in Perth and to Dr Ornella Volpicelli. We can say that we have a team of highly qualified teachers and we can also say that we are finally at the forefront in Australia as an Italian language school.

There will certainly be other great news at the Dante Alighieri Society next year, for now I thank you for your attention and I wish you a peaceful Christmas made of gifts, decorations, trees, cribs, video calls and international messages, friends, relatives, children, boyfriends , girlfriends, wives and husbands … in short, made of love and tables laid of special food and a 2020 full of great satisfactions and cultural events organized by our association, with the certainty that my commitment will always be to make the Dante Alighieri Society of Western Australia a pole of linguistic and cultural Italian spirit.

Cari membri e amici ,

sono Alessandro Vero, presidente della Dante Alighieri Society del Western Australia.
È stato un anno ricchissimo di eventi e tutti molto partecipati e per questo ringrazio dal profondo del cuore tutte le persone che hanno reso possibile tutto ciò.

Innanzitutto l’infaticabile ed esperto comitato che in modo professionale e attento, si occupa di tutte le attività di gestione della nostra società.

Un grazie speciale alla nostra coordinatrice scolastica, Imma Pellone, al nostro segtretario Rino Pellone e al nostro webmaster Giovanni Firmani, ma soprattutto vorrei ringraziare i nostri soci e studenti per la fiducia che ripongono ogni anno nella nostra società e per l’entusiasmo con cui affrontano ogni proposta: grazie di cuore!

La Società Dante Alighieri ha come scopo primario quello di “tutelare e diffondere la lingua e la cultura italiane nel mondo, ravvivando i legami spirituali dei connazionali all’estero con la madre patria e alimentando tra gli stranieri l’amore e il culto per la civiltà italiana”, ed è proprio per questo motivo che il nuovo comitato, onorato della carica da ormai 6 mesi, si è subito impegnato a continuare il lavoro dei comitati precedenti, implementando gli eventi culturali ed i corsi scolastici, maggiore fonte di sopravvivenza della nostra cara associazione.

Il lavoro fino ad ora svolto non è stato facile, ma grazie all’impegno di tutto il comitato, siamo riusciti a raggiungere tutti gli obiettivi prefissati.

E’ con grande orgoglio informarVi riguardo le novità della DASWA:

  • E’ stato organizzato il calendario degli eventi culturali per il 2020.
  • Abbiamo mantenuto per il 2020 tutti i corsi svolti nel 2019.
  • Grazie ad una attenta spending review, abbiamo riportato i conti della associazione in positivo.
  • Abbiamo eliminato completamente il cash, portando il pagamento elettronico nella nostra segreteria, centrando l’obiettivo primario di trasparenza.
  • Abbiamo ottenuto dalla sede centrale di Roma la certificazione PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri). Con questo certificato, per una legge del 2018 entrata ora in vigore, è possibile richiedere la cittadinanza italiana per adulti e ragazzi.
  • Sempre grazie alla nostra affiliazione alla sede centrale di Roma, abbiamo avuto l’opportunità di organizzare i corsi di Italiano certificati ADA (Attestato Dante Alighieri). Ogni studente che frequenterà un corso di lingua italiana ADA, avrà un attestato alla fine del corso, riconosciuto in tutto il mondo.
  • Inizieranno a breve i primi corsi IELTS per tutti I nostri amici italiani e non , “a caccia di un visto”, ad un costo estremamente competitivo.
  • Sul nostro sito e sul sito del consolato italiano di Perth avete l’opportunità di approfondire quello che ho scritto e potete anche vedere I nuovi corsi culturali di arte, storia, teatro ed un corso avanzato di chitarra che inizieranno tutti a partire da Febbraio 2020.

La difficoltà è stata reperire i docenti qualificati, un ringraziamento speciale va per questo al Governo Italiano in particolare al Consolato Italiano di Perth e alla Dottoressa Ornella Volpicelli. Possiamo affermare di avere una squadra di docenti estremamente qualificati e possiamo anche dire di essere finalmente all’avanguardia in Australia come scuola della lingua italiana.

Ci saranno sicuramente altre grandi novità alla Dante Alighieri Society il prossimo anno, per ora Vi ringrazio per l’attenzione e Vi auguro un sereno Natale fatto di regali, addobbi, alberi, presepi, videochiamate e messaggi internazionali, amici, parenti, figli, fidanzati, fidanzate, mogli e mariti … insomma fatto di amore e tavole imbandite e un 2020 pieno di grandi soddisfazioni ed eventi culturali organizzati dalla nostra associazione, con la certezza che il mio impegno sarà sempre quello di rendere la Dante Alighieri Society of Western Australia un polo linguistica e culturale.
